About me

Not much to say about me - I'm just me!

Yes, that's me up there!)

I have now reached the grand old age of 52 (it took about forty years getting this old!), am married to Judith, and have six children (Shelley, Stephanie, James, Daniel, Brett and Curtis) and four grandsons (Jason, Kaiden, Levi and new addition Oliver) and one granddaughter, Skye. I don't have an apple of my eye - I have an entire blooming orchard!

Below you will find details of my favourite singers and actors (just look at my children's names for proof!).

Cheers
Derek
Who is the BEST singer-songwriter the world has EVER produced?
None other than Henry John Deutschendorf Jr - better known as John Denver!
Listen and you WILL agree!
On a par (vocally-speaking, as he doesn't write songs) is Glen Travis Campbell.  Vocal ambrosia!
'What's the best TV series EVER?' do I hear you cry?
No? Well, I'll tell you anyway - The Persuaders! (the ! is in the title - don't ever leave it out!)
Starring the wonderful Moore and Curtis (so universally loved and famous that they only needed their surnames - now THAT'S fame!), it is BRILLIANT from the first scene of episode 1 to the last in episode 24.
Watch this interview with the dynamic duo on that gardening fellow's chat show (he 'writes' as well!), and you will see why the series WAS, IS and ALWAYS WILL BE so special!
By the way, Tony Curtis sent my son a signed photo when he, Curtis, was born. Top man!
God bless and keep you, Bernard!
'Shelley', one of the best comedy series ever written, starred the wonderful Hywel Bennett as the eponymous wise alec layabout (Rickman was just in it in a bit part). It has now been released on DVD - I heavily suggest that you buy it!
I remember Bennet in 'Malice Aforethought', a murder mystery made in the mid '70s. In a multilayered performance, it really shows how marvelous an actor he is - much underused and undervalued!
Another very underused and undervalued actor is Peter Wyngarde, the ultra-suave Jason King in first Department S and then the self-titled author-come-adventurer! He also stars in one of my favourite films ever - Night of The Eagle.
